In 2016 Intel Academy will celebrate its 10 year anniversary! My partner, filmmaker Alex Litz, filmed a video clip about the Academy. I was invited to do a little photo-reportage about the club. So I spent the day on the ice. I got so much energy from the children enrolled ice hockey, and from the work of Yuri Krivokhija coach. I hope that my photos will transfer you to the atmosphere of the camp.

Yuri Krivokhija.
Yuri is the founder and the Head Coach of the INTEL Hockey Academy and is very excited to share his experience, knowledge and passion of the game with young, eager and willing to learn athletes. He uses a unique style of coaching by combining Eastern European and North American visions of play and techniques.
I have been a hockey coach since 1982. Few if any I have ever encountered have the passion that Yuri displays. His drills are game like and intuitive. His insight into game strategies is unique. His attention to detail in recognizing fundamentals and strategies, to me, in Pittsburgh is unmatched. And, aside from all that….he knows how to turn it down and just have fun when that is what the situation demands.

At the recommendation of a friend, our daughter (Team Pittsburgh U14) attended this camp. Never have we so clearly witnessed one single training event effecting such a marked improvement in her game. Her speed, passing, and shooting improved to the point at which we almost did not recognize her on the ice. The results were remarkable — certainly better than anything any of my three players have seen from any other Pittsburgh-area training in the past. We are signing her and our other two players up NOW for the next summer. Thank you!
